Overview: Nested in the midst of a lush valley with evergreen rice fields surrounding, Mai Chau is small town only 130km far from Hanoi. We will do a light trek along the green valley, crossing rice fields and walking through villages of the white Thai group. Tour Itinerary
Day 1. Hanoi – Mai Chau Valley (L, D)
8.00 Pick up at your hotel in Hanoi, head out for Mai Chau. Stop along the way to visit the Muong tribe and then at Thung Khe Pass for a spectacular view of Mai Chau Valley. Have an authentic lunch with a local family of the White Thai Tribe and enjoy some free time to acquaint yourself with the villagers. In the afternoon, trek through terraced rice paddies and small villages, discovering the natural beauty of the valley and encountering the culture of the ethnic minority Thai people on our visits to the Pom Coong and Na Phon villages. Return to your home stay for a help prepare the evening meal. This is an opportunity to learn about the local cuisine and culture as you join the family to prepare a traditional dinner. In the evening enjoy a live dance and music performance of the villagers. Stay overnight in the long stilt house.

Day 2: Mai Chau Discovery – Hanoi (B, L)
Start the day with a simple breakfast with your host family then take a short drive through the surrounding countryside , before setting off on a trek through rice paddies and down winding lanes to visit the Cum and Sam Khoe villages. Immerse yourself in the vibrant local culture and enjoy an authentic lunch at one of the villages. In the afternoon we drive back to the urban bustle, arriving at your hotel in Hanoi in the late afternoon.
Optional Accommodation: Stay overnight in a luxury Mai Chau Lodge resort or private bungalow room.
