North Vietnam Package Tour Itinerary
Day 1 – Hanoi Arrival
Upon arrival at Hanoi airport, you will be picked up at the airport lobby and transferred to Hotel. Depending on the time of arrival, we may enjoy a short walk around the old quarter, visit to Hoan Kiem Lake, the French Quarter, Dong Xuan market, take a cyclo ride around the old quarter streets, enjoy a special water puppet show.

Day 2 – Hanoi full day sightseeing Tour (B, L)
At 8:0AM we start the city tour with a visit to Ho Chi Minh residence complex including HCM Mausoleum, Presidential Palace, Stilt House, one Pillar Pagoda then drive to the Temple of Literature, built in 11th Century and the country’s first University, West Lake & Tran Quoc Pagoda. Have lunch at a Vietnamese restaurant.
After lunch, we visit Ethnology Museum, Hoa Kiem Lake – the heart of Hanoi and Ngoc Son temple. You may cross over the red bridge at the north end to Ngoc Son Temple and the Tortoise Tower. Enjoy your free time for your own discovery and dinner before we catch a night train to Sapa.

Day 3 – Lao Cai – Sapa – trekking to Lao Chai-Ta Van –Giang Ta Chai villages (B, L)
The train will pull in around 6:00 at Lao Cai station, near the Chinese border. You will be met by our private guide and we drive one hour to Sapa town. This French hill station is located on the elevation of 1650m above sea level, a premier destination of northwest Vietnam.
Enjoy your breakfast in Sapa then take a short walk to discover the beautiful Sapa town before we do trekking to the minority ethnic villages.
Trekking options:
A light trek: car pickup from hotel and drive downhill to Lao Chai village and do 6km treks. We will trek through Lao Chai (Hmong tribe) and then have a lunch in Ta Van Village (The Zay Tribe).
A hard trek about 12km: we will start our trek from Sapa and walking down and up hill along the beautiful Muong Hoa valley. This is the most picturesque valley in Sapa. We will trek along this valley all through Y Linh Ho – Lao Chai – Ta Van village. A picnic lunch will be prepared and we will have lunch on the way as appropriate.
Along the trek you have chance to meet and talk with local people. On the trip today we meet three different tribal people among 7 ethnic groups living in Sapa area. The scenery is a big reward for us with amazing terraced rice fields, green forest, wonderful streams and stilt-houses of the local people. After trek, car will pick you up and drive back to hotel in Sapa

Day 4- Sapa – Trekking to Cat Cat village – Night train to Hanoi
After breakfast at hotel, your local guide will take you on a 2 hours trekking to Cat Cat village. You will trek down to the valley among the terraced fields and visit some Hmong families and meet the hill tribal people, get to know their way of life, cultures and traditions. Your walking will go down all the way on steps leading to a beautiful water fall of Cat Cat and a French-built hydropower station. You have chance to attend a folk music show with the minority people. After that we walk back to Sapa. Have lunch on your own and spend the last minutes for shopping, visiting Sapa market, or enjoy some traditional massages around town. We will leave Sapa at 4PM for Lao Cai station. Driver will drop us at the Chinese border for sightseeing and visiting temple before we move to train station to take night train to Hanoi.

Day 5 Hanoi – Halong Bay Overnigh Cruise
You will be met by your guide early this morning at Hanoi’s railway station. After breakfast you will have over 3 hours to drive along the country side of the Red River Delta to the UNESCO heritage site of Halong Bay.
A traditional style Vietnamese Junk Cruise is waiting your arrival and will set sail at noon today. Lunch will be served on board amidst spectacular views of the bay.
Today you will visit one of the largest caves in Halong Bay and we have a beach stop where you may go swimming, sightseeing and climbing to top for a panorama view of the Halong bay. Enjoy cruising until late afternoon we will anchor the junk and stay overnight on board.
Tonight enjoy a fresh seafood dinner on the Junk.

Day 6 – Halong Bay cruisee – Hanoi (B,L)
The early birds will participate in the morning Tai Chi on the top deck or simply watch the sunrise over the magnificent bay. Enjoy your morning cup of coffee or juice before setting out to the near- by cave on a row boat. Watch for monkeys high on the cliff tops. Return back to the junk, where breakfast is served, at the same time the junk will cruise to Bai Tu Long area
Your cruise will end at noon and you will be met by your guide & driver for the trip back to Hanoi. Stay overnight in Hanoi.

Day 7 – Hanoi Departure
