Itinerary of Saigon Culinary Tour in 5 days

Day 1: Welcome to Saigon – Gateway to Southern Vietnam (D)

Today you arrive at Tan Son Nhat Intl airport and meet your local tour g uide at the airport lobby then transfer to hotel in city centre. Take the orientation walk around the center of the city. Enjoy welcome dinner at Ngon Restaurant with great collection of authentic local food in Saigon. Stay in hotel Saigon.

Day 2: Cook your Saigon traditional meal and discover this metropolis in our Saigon Culinary Tour (B, L)

In the morning, after your breakfast at hotel, start your professional cooking career, or at the very least, become a better cook with a half-day cooking course focusing on Vietnamese cuisine. On this tour in Ho Chi Minh City, you will find out the skills and secrets to recreating a traditional meal from Saigon.

Begin your tour by heading to a local market to see how Vietnamese people select their ingredients for cooking. After you have explored the local produce and meat, head to a cooking center. There, you will learn when and how to use the numerous herbs and spices that are strongly attached to the Vietnamese culture. You will also be taught how to select the ingredients for some dishes and instructed on how to prepare them.

After preparing the food, follow the instructions of your chef to cook it. Finally, when everything is done, you will be able to eat the meal you have created!

Even inexperienced cook can create tasty dishes within a few hours.
Continue by a hands-on initiation to the Vietnamese Cuisine Art, giving you the opportunity not only to learn how to cook them and reproduce them once you return to your home country, but also to taste our delicious dishes.

Saigon Culinary Tour
Afternoon take a tour to discover Saigon, the dynamic and bustling city so called “The Pearl of Far East” Visit Notre Dame Cathedral, Central Post office then drive to China Town. We will take you to visit Cho Lon – the biggest whole sales market in Saigon then visit Thien Hau Pagoda – where you can see hundred of local people come to worship for their Health, Luck and Happiness. Enjoy the authentic Vietnamese coffee in local coffee shop in the typical street of China Town – where the famous French Movie “The Lover” had been filmed. Stay in hotel Saigon tonight.

Day 3: Discover The Mighty Mekong River, experience local lives and taste local dishes (B, L)

In the morning drive from Sai Gon to Cai Be. Upon arrival, visit Cao Dai Temple in Cai Be before embarking for the boat trip to colorful Cai Be floating Market, then visit some local home factories to discover traditional rice pastry making, rice pop corn, coco candies, and longan drying process. After enjoying beautiful lunch at a superb Indochina villa, Le Longanier, located in a luxuriant garden by the river, your sampan will cruise to Dong Hoa Hiep. On the way, you will be able observe the typical Mekong delta rural life. These evergreen islands among the Mekong River still remain unknown to many people. Visit at an ancient mandarin house dating from the 19th century where the family will welcome you with a cup a tea. Then we will proceed to Vinh Long, passing beautiful landscapes along Dong Phu canal, Binh Hoa Phuoc and An Binh islands famous for their fruit orchards. Stops on the way can be made at Tam Ho bonsai garden. You will have a chance to taste the typical tropical fruit there and enjoy the authentic tradition music show performed by local farmer there. On the way back to Vinh Long, visit the local brick and pottery factory – where you can experience the way of local people firing brick in special brick kiln by rice husk from Mekong Delta. Back to the bus to drive to Can Tho, the capital of Mekong Delta. In the evening – you can try the typical local food of Mekong Delta at special restaurant. Overnight in Can Tho.

Day 4: Visit Cai Rang Floating Market in Can Tho – Back in Saigon(B/L)

After breakfast at hotel, embark for a boat trip to visit Cai Rang floating market where local people wholesale all product of Mekong Delta. It will be great chance for taking part to the local activities and taking pictures. Then continue by boat to visit the local bustling inland market before visiting Rice processing factory. The car picks up at Ninh Kieu Wharf take you to visit Binh Thuy house – the most impressive ancient house in Mekong Delta before having lunch at Sao Hom restaurant. After lunch, transfer back to Saigon. Stay in Saigon hotel.

Day 5: Farewell Saigon (B)

Morning is free at leisure until transfer to Tan Son Nhat Airport for departure flight. Saigon Culinary Tour ends.
