Trip Overview: This 4WD northeast Vietnam discovery tour will drive you along the mountain trials to explore exotic northeastern Vietnam. We will travel along this hidden corner of the country where we rarely see tourists. The trip offers spectacular scenery over the beautiful nature and rural life, local hill tribal people. This route was a very important part in the northeast of Vietnam during the country’s long-century struggles against the foreign invasion. Enjoy this 4WD drive to see hill tribe markets, villages and historic sites, you will get a taste of the region’s unique culture and history.
Ban Gioc Waterfall
4WD Travel route: Hanoi-Lang Son – Cao Bang – Ban Gioc Waterfall – Pac Po Cave – Hanoi
Tour Itinerary
Day 1: Hanoi – Lang Son – Cao Bang (L)
In the morning, our guide and driver will pick you up from your hotel in Hanoi, we 
leave the capital for a three-hour drive to Lang Son city to see the bustling morning market. Continue along spectacular mountain roads to Cao Bang, a drive filled with spectacular views of lush valleys, village hamlets and distant mountains. We can have stop en route for photography and we will have lunch in a local restaurant as appropriate. Upon reaching Cao Bang, a small town along the Chinese border, check in your hotel and take a short walk around this little town to experience the local hill tribe lives. Overnight in Cao Bang town.
Day 2: Cao Bang – Ban Gioc Waterfall (B, L)
We have breakfast at hotel and then set out for a drive to the most scenic waterfall in Vietnam, Ban Gioc located between Vietnam and China. Spend today exploring the unspoiled nature that surrounds Cao Bang as you drive along the Chinese border to Ban Gioc Waterfall. Set amid stunning scenery, overlooking the border, Ban Gioc is one of the country’s largest waterfalls and you’ll have time to relax or take a swim in its emerald waters. A lot of photographic opportunities around this waterfall, lunch at a small restaurant nearby and then drive to Nguom Ngao Cave to see the most amazing cave in the area which is believed people lived before. Drive back to Cao Bang Town and Overnight at hotel in Cao Bang.
Day 3: Cao Bang – Pac Po Cave – Hanoi (B, L)
Located near Chinese border, Pac Po cave was home for Vietnamese revolutionaries
during the French time in Vietnam. This is a place where Ho Chi Minh and his comrades hid away while planning a revolution campaign against the French colonialist. That was a big move to gain the country’s independence.
After breakfast, enjoy a short drive with stunning landscape along road toward Chinese border, stop at some local markets to mingle with the local hill tribes as they barter their wares. Reaching the Pac Po cave, discover the cave and climbing mountain to have great view over the area. Return Cao Bang town for lunch before we drive back to Hanoi.
